Discover Sweden in films
Film operations at the Swedish Institute (SI) are based on our overall remit for the promotion of Sweden. This calls for a focus of activities on conveying who we are, what our values are and where we can be found in the world – basically, generating interest in Sweden as a partner country.
With the film database the Swedish Institute wishes to present a cross section of Swedish film history available in our archive.
SI continually receives requests about what resources we have in terms of film to support organizers and Sweden’s missions abroad in the work to promote Sweden. There are many different types of events where film is used; these include Swedish film weeks or collaboration in various kinds of film festivals, but also other activities for which film is a conveyor of information, especially exhibitions and seminars.
