Youth entrepreneurship – making connections
With the Library of Alexandria as gracious hosts,”Youth entrepreneurship – making connections” was a one-day network seminar jointly organized by the Swedish Institute (SI) and Tällberg Foundation.
The purpose of this meeting was to give the participants an opportunity to discuss, reflect on the need of social and environmental regeneration at both local and global scale, as well as to learn about promising approaches to innovate and co-create to bring about change.

The Viral Effect - Reworking the World
The participants presented their group projects on a topic related to viral networking and global impact, such as freedom of expression and human rights in the digital age. After that the participants met with a jury for conclusion. Also invented guests were asked to relate their own personal experience from social media, and how this could tie in with each group's presentation.

EU-MENA - Connected or Not?
Can developments in social media technologies help enable a participatory culture between the EU and the Middle East/North Africa region? The seminar highlighted how leaders and practitioners from different spheres of society can capture the opportunities provided by new technology.

Free the Music? Censorship & Social Media
Is music free? Music can unite or divide people. It can open our imaginations but also reinforce cultural stereotypes. When it comes to spreading music and culture what role does social media play? Does it help divide or unite? The seminar examined the technological, cultural and social interplay between social mores and social media.

Social Media to Rework the World - From Idea to Impact
Around the world a new generation of opinion-makers increasingly uses social media as a tool for social mobilization and change. Digital networks are being created cross-culturally and cross-nationally, providing new perspectives on freedom of expression. The seminar focused on the efforts of digital social networks from a sustainability perspective.

The Young Leaders Network Seminar 2008 focused on the impact of media and how it effects international and intercultural relations.
