Creative Force − Creative meeting places

The Swedish Institute’s Creative Force program provides funding for collaborative projects involving organizations in Sweden and in the countries specified below that work to bring about change by means of dialogue, communication and creative forums. The program is open to applications which aim to promote openness and democratic structures with the aid of projects in the fields of culture, media and related sectors.

Creative Force emphasizes the importance of culture and creativity for a country’s development, for strengthening democracy and for the right to express oneself freely. The aim is to help build respect for human rights, with particular focus on freedom of expression and women’s rights.

As of 2013 the Creative Force program comprises four geographic areas:

Two types of funding are available for each geographic area:

Application periods
The following calls for funding will take place in 2013:
Seed funding: application deadlines 31 January, 15 May, 15 September
Collaborative projects: application deadline 31 January

The application period begins six weeks before each respective deadline.
