International summer courses in Swedish as a foreign language

Summer courses are generally arranged by the Swedish Institute in co-operation with Folk High Schools in Sweden. Participants are given a unique possibility to meet with a genuinely Swedish environment in a quiet and provincial setting. The peaceful milieu facilitates concentration on language studies.

Generally there are five lessons of language interaction scheduled per day. Additionally participants should count on having to devote several hours outside the class room to teamwork and individual studies. Compulsory activities such as fieldtrips are often arranged.

Participants must have studied Swedish for at least one year or 100 hours or more at university level. For application forms and more information about SI summer courses, see the Swedish-language website Svenska språket i världen.

For further information on studying in Sweden, including information about Swedish language studies in Sweden, see Studyinsweden.se.

Please note that SI has no beginner's summer courses. If you are a beginner, you might be interested in our Swedish Web course, see link in the left-hand-menu.
