ReENERGY

The KTH Royal Institute of Technology heads the project ReNERGY, a three-year collaboration on sustainable energy for cities in the Baltic region.

The project will share experiences and methods to develop energy-efficient solutions for urban environments in Sweden, Estonia, Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova. Several universities, municipalities, cities and municipal corporations are included in the project.

Energy and climate-related issues
The ReENERGY project will also contain discussions on other ongoing projects that deal with climate change, the construction of carbon-neutral urban environments, as well as energy efficiency conversions in old buildings. Project participants will also share the latest technology in renewable energy and “smart grids.” The network created within ReENERGY will become a sustainable platform for international cooperation in the future.

Thematic priority in the EU
Energy efficiency and conversion of the current energy systems are priorities in both the EU Strategy of the Baltic Sea Region and EU´s Eastern partnership.

Project participants
Five countries participate in the project and are represented by people from universities, municipalities, cities and municipality corporations. The focus of the partnership is on the academic partners and stakeholders from Ukraine.
