Documentation from seminar in Kiev on Renewable Energy
The Baltic Sea Unit of the Swedish Institute arranged a seminar in Kiev, Thursday 8 November, 2012. The seminar took place in the framework of IV International Investment Business Forum organised by State Agency on Energy Efficiency & Energy Saving of Ukraine (SAEE).
The seminar brought together over 100 professionals from Ukraine, Sweden, Latvia, Belarus, Lithuania and Russia to share experience, learn from each other and discuss future cooperation. The seminar was opened by Mykola Pashkevych, Head of the SAEE who stressed the importance of cooperation with Sweden in the field of energy security.
Main topics of the event were to:
· promote the financial opportunities offered to collaboration projects and education by the Swedish Institute
· present best cases from Baltic Sea cooperation
· network and exchange experience in the field of energy efficiency and renewable energy
The speakers provided several examples on successful collaboration projects in the region and highlighted the impact of an effective energy project in the society. The conference was attended by a wide range of participants: researchers, educators, students, policy-makers, businessmen and NGOs. It was a pleasure to receive positive response from the participants who got the chance to attend and network at the seminar.
