2010-06-15

Swedish Institute and The Swedish Embassy in Belgrade organized network meetings in Belgrade and Novi Sad in mid June. The aim was to make Serbian partners of the Creative Force program meet, exchange ideas and share experiences. Some 40 local organizations were present at the Belgrade meeting.

Creative Force Sweden-Western Balkans started in 2009 and is open for project proposals expert visits and network building. The aim of the program is to strengthen cultural and creative initiatives between Sweden and the Western Balkans, with a focus on openness, pluralism and equal opportunities.

In 2010, SI has granted support for 14 projects in the Western Balkan region, and is involved in some 10 other projects under way. The majority of SI:s partners are NGO:s, cultural organizations and other actors that work with opinion-making, capacity building and developing new methods and ideas through culture and creativity. An important target group for projects within Creative Force as a whole are children and young people.

At the network meeting SI also informed about some current projects and future perspectives. Mor informal network meetings with the aim to inform about Creative Force were also held in Novi Sad, Serbia's second largest city.
