Swedish Spirit of Innovation

So, what’s the secret? It lies in the Swedish spirit of innovation. It starts in childhood, when children are inspired to think and act in their own creative way. At work, it is reflected in the absence of rigid hierarchical structures and short distances between senior management and employees. This makes Sweden a dynamic country quick at reaching decisions. Teamwork, collaboration and respect for each individual are deeply rooted in the Swedish culture.

What drives the innovation process in Sweden is science. Sweden is one of the leaders in the world in terms of how much public money is spent on research and development. Many of Sweden’s leading corporations, such as Ericsson, ABB, SKF, Sandvik, Tetra Pak, Alfa Laval, AGA, and Atlas Copco, were built upon inventions from the late 1800s and early 1900s.

In this exhibition from the Swedish Institute you will get a glimpse of the hottest innovations from Sweden today. Learn about these innovations from startup companies that may become the leading Swedish corporations of tomorrow.
